Derval Barzey is an Environmental Management Professional with experience spanning the industrial and regulatory side of the Trinidad and Tobago energy sector. Her expertise includes Risk Management, Environmental Impact Assessments, Stakeholder Engagement and Sustainable Energy Policy and Project development.

Derval holds an MBA in Sustainable Energy Management, and a BSc in Environmental and Natural Resources Management, and Agribusiness from the University of the West Indies (UWI). She is also trained in Energy Efficiency Management, Solar Electric Design and Installation and Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards for sustainability reporting.

Derval is the founder of The Climate Conscious, a consultancy service which seeks to connect individuals and organizations to sustainability solution. She hosts and produces The Climate Conscious Podcast promoting climate action and sustainable development from a Caribbean perspective. She is a member of the Clinton Foundation’s Women in Renewable Energy Network, and a Climate Reality Leader. Her interests include yoga, travel and permaculture.
