This week, I'm delving into a disturbing yet unfortunately not uncommon incident involving Diane Abbott, a distinguished member of the UK parliament, and explore how sadly tolerating BS is a reality for many mature Black women stuck in jobs that are, well, past their prime.
We're getting real about the toll of the double bind of limited opportunities, the financial tightrope many of us walk, and the weight of that "strong Black woman" stereotype. We'll also get real about the toll this BS takes on our well-being, from wrecking our self-esteem to being treated like you're invisible.
So, if you're nodding along thinking, "Yeah, that's totally me," then it's time to ask yourself: why are you settling for less?
I'm here to shake things up, spark some change, and remind you that staying silent is no longer an option.

Since the New Year I've been feeling that I'm underperforming and berating myself for it......
As it turns out for no good reason.
On reflection I found that I'd actually underestimated my output and that my focus was a little skewed!
I'd been measuring my output and not the substance of my productivity.
I get it – the unsustainable pressure to excel and prove ourselves - but it's unhealthy.
